There are so many activities to offer in the area, if you're not one to stay in and put your feet up for the week have a look though some of the many activities on offer below :

ON THE LAND

Walking

Suffolk on the whole offers some lovely walking, the heritage coast offers some beautiful footpaths along rivers and through the forest all of varying levels and most can incorporate a good place to stop off for a picnic or even a good pub to stop at for some local food.

Cycling

Whether you like to cycle along roads, small county lanes, bridle paths or single tracks we are sure you'll find enough here to keep you entertained.

Horse Riding

Iken Barns is home to many horses, and with the surroundings we have on offer if you like horse riding you'll love going on a hack here. Please enquire about it on booking.

Bird Watching

Suffolk's heritage coast offers a range of interesting habitats to entice a selection of rare birds and wildlife. Take some binoculars down to the cliffs and see what you can see across the estuary or visit one of the many local reserves such as Snape, Minsmere, havergate and North Warren

ON THE WATER

Sailing and Paddling

Orford SC, Aldeburgh SC, Slaughdon SC

Whether you are an experienced sailor or just fancy giving it a go there is plenty of opportunity in the area to do so.

Dinah, the sailing barge you will often see moored on the estuary in front of Iken Barns is on offer exclusively to guests. More details about the barge are available on the 'barge sailing' pages.

If you have a kayak or a paddleboard don't forget to bring it along as there is direct access to the river from Iken Barns and the estuary is well worth exploring with an abundance of wildlife. Snape Maltings can also be reached by kayak in about 30 minutes
